DC Personal Injury Attorneys – Product Liability
At Cohen & Cohen Personal Injury Attorneys, we understand how devastating injuries received in a car accident or through a defective product can be. Each holiday season, a number of toys are released that can potentially harm children. Consumer product safety group World Against Toys Causing Harm (WATCH) has recently released their list of 2015 Holiday Toys that can cause harm. We urge you to read over this list and determine if any of these dangerous toys are in your children’s hands.
- Sold at Toys ‘R Us for $49.99, Stats’ 38 inch trampoline appears to be a toy for active children. Unfortunately, this toy can potentially cause injuries to the head, neck, and body.
- A foam dart gun, released by GD Jiefeng, has been labeled for ages 3 and older. This gun, however, is quite realistic and can be confused with an actual weapon.
- This adorable toy looks like it could not cause any harm. But “Bud” Skipit’s Wheely Cute Pull Along by Bunnies By the Bay is a potential choking hazard.
- Skyrocket Toys Poo Dough appears to be a disgusting yet fun toy for kids. Most parents, however, wouldn’t think to check the label and may miss the fact that it contains wheat. WATCH reports that it could potentially cause an allergic reaction.
- The Imperial Toy Zooma Splat X Smack Shot is advertised as coming with soft, gummy ammo. But this unique toy has the potential to cause eye injuries in children.
- A skateboard without wheels sounds like it might be safer than a traditional skateboard. But the Kick Flipper by PlaySmart Toys, which sells for just $19.99 but has potential to cause head and bodily injuries.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Leo’s Electronic Stealth Sword by Playmates International Company appears rather realistic and potentially dangerous. This $24.99 item can cause blunt force injuries.
- Kid Connection Doctor Play Set by Walmart sells for just $4.97. Unfortunately, this toy contains small pieces and can be a choking hazard for youngsters.
- WATCH warns consumers to avoid Early Learning Centre’s (ELC) Toybox Pull Along Zebra toy. Although it may appear safe, it can cause strangulation and entanglement issues.
- Menacing-looking Jurassic World Velociraptor Claws, manufactured by Hasbro and sold for $19.99, have the potential to cause both eye and facial injuries.
As personal injury attorneys, we at Cohen & Cohen urge you to avoid defective and unsafe products both during the holidays and throughout the year.
